SWEET 1950s。This is an adorable look from the 1950s\'. The fedora is made of coffee colored raffia and made as one continues piece. No separation of the crown and brim. The crown just beautifully extends into a medium sized brim, which is upturned at one side, turned down at the other side, mysteriously covering one eye partially. There is a narrow matching grosgrain band near the edge on the underside of the brim. There is a gold shiny fabric band surrounding the crown, which ends in a bow at the opposite side of the upturned brim. By the bow there is a beautiful bouquet of fabric daisies finishing this festive look.
Post war 1940’s and 1950’s saw many women choosing not to wear hats on a regular basis. To preserve its market, the millinery industry set about creating variety and extravagance. Generally speaking hats remained small and close to the head. They were now touted as the essential accessory to complete the ensemble.
There is no label, indicating it was a custom-made creation.
This hat is in wonderful vintage condition and has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Mannequin not for sale.
