Lenci Art by Theriault。This is a showstopper hat from the 1940\'s. The hat is made of black felt, and shaped in a \"cossack\" style. The crown is round and the brim is completely upturned. The top front of the brim is half covered in black sequins. There is a lovely green veil attached to the inside of the brim and tied at the back, creating 2 streamers. The outstanding feature of this hat are the 2 green feather wings at each side. They are truly stunning, but very delicate due to their age. The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. Imprinted inside the hat: HENRY POLLAK. There is no size label, but then hat fits a size 22.5 to 23\" This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
