Maison Michel Autumn/Winter Purple Felt Wide Brim Hat w 。What a beautiful piece of millinery fashions from the fabulous 40\'s! This black felt tilt hat has a short crown surrounded by a wide brim. A wide black grosgrain band is placed around the crown and ties into a large fan shaped bow at the back. There are beautiful curly purple feathers emerging from the bow, plus a full veil with purple dots finishes this gorgeous look. A grosgrain covered elastic band is attached to the inside to keep the hat in a tilted position. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, an extended cap, or a combination of these. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. There is a size 22 label attached. Please keep in mind that you are buying a vintage hat, not new nor perfect! This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
